I've been reading in other forums that the Panasonic cameras are not supported by Premiere Pro 1.5 I just downloaded the HDV upgrade and it says Panasonic on the project file menu when you determine format. However, I didn't notice it on the video capture settings. Anybody know for sure? This would definately help me determine which camera to go for.

The NLE you use is part of the equation on which camera you are going to buy?

I'd pick the camera first, computer second.

Premiere Pro 1.5 most definately works with Panasonic cameras. 24pAdvanced has been known to be buggy though. But Premiere Pro is a fantastic editing program and works well with the DVX. Shame on everyone else for not actually answering your question. Peace.

Actually regular 24p has given me problems. 24pA works fine in PPro1.5.1
One issue I have noticed with the camera/capture settings. If you check Adobe's web site and check camera compatibility you will see the DVX100 says CS (conditional support) while other cameras like the Canon Elura40 say FS (full support).
I mention the Elura 40 because that is the camera I use to capture my footage (cheap vcr).
I have had issues on occasion with PPro controlling the DVX.

I wonder why Adobe doesn't just put a patch on their site to fix this?

I hear you Bryan, I'm still trying to get past my capture problem with PP1.5 (see thread under Pre. Pro. "Capture Problem... trying to solve") I'll probably try capturing w/ movie maker(comes w/ windowsXP) or pinnacle..... not sure if I'll lose quality from my DVX100A, but will miss the capture/logging features from PP1.5.... funny though regular Premiere Pro captures fine.
