I don't know where to post this, so since I use Premiere to edit, I thought I'd throw it here.

I have a friend who wants her resume on DVD, so that prospective employeers can see her in action. Simple so far, short promo video. But she wants the text portions of her resume on the DVD, and I've never seen it done.

Has anyone come across this? Should I just make a section on the DVD where a video would play of just a bunch of titles with her data/info?

I don't want to put a bunch of time in to this project without getting another opinion.

Anyone?

Thats what I would do. I would write a breif description of what they'll be seeing. Keep it simple..

on a DVD i completed recently i put a bunch of information about a program on the disc. i did a section off the menu where you would go in , and you could page through the information to read it all. just simple forward and back buttons to go through the pages. pretty easy to do. just use a very legible font. its all going through the menu system instead of a timline, so they can read at their own pace. for convenience you should make the default button on every new page be the button which leads to the next page. so they could just sit and hit "enter" to go to the next menu/page. then at the last page. the default button will return you to the main menu.

extra:
also you can set a max time amount for each menu so if they happen to let it sit there on any page for 2 min or whatever. it will go to the next page till the end and then sit till it goes to the next.. and so on and so on.. and then it will go back t the main menu from the last page.. then the main menu timeout will play the timeline .. when the timeline finishes it goes to the next thing you wan them to see and so on.. that way its sort of like a screensaver so it never sits on one thing too long. but it also "self navigates" through the disc if someone cannot figure out how to work it or lost the remote or something.

..anyway ...that just another way to add convenience and useability to your dvds.. thoughtful self navigation through the menu and timeline end action sequences.

Also, you can add her resume and relevant documents as a .pdf file so the prospective employer can print them off. She'll probably put a tree-ware resume in with the package, but it would add a little cool factor to the DVD to have electronic versions available.

Just add them to the root directory, or a dedicated folder, of the authored DVD image before burning. Be sure and mention it somewhere in the menu structure so the user knows to look for them.
