Really, really want to see some footage shot with this on the fs100...

Definitely interesting. Philip Bloom quite likes it:

"Wide open obviously it isnít super sharp, itís what I would call soft focus dreamy, stop down to F1.4 and itís surprisingly sharp."

Steve Huff not so much:

"The fact is, this lens is sort of like what a Leica Noctilux F0.95 would vomit out if it were sick."

Given that the Noctilux is $10,000, that's not so bad.... ;-)

An alternative would be something like the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1, at $1024:

Then again you can get a Canon FD-mount 50mm f1.2 L-series on ebay for possibly cheap-ish.

The Noktor is a pretty standard rehoused security camera lens from Goyo Optical (http://www.goyooptical.com/). CCTV sensors are generally very low-resolution, and I'm not sure a lens manufactured with those requirements would make justice for a high-resolution sensor like the one in the FS100. Link to the lens they rehouse as the "Noktor": http://www.goyooptical.com/products/industrial/GMY45095MCN.pdf

I think a fast Voigtlander, Cosina or used Nikon or Canon would be a better investment.
