My mac (10.8.6, 2.4 quad core) will not recognize/mount my FS100. I have to eject the Sandisk from the camera and use a card reader. Should I be worried about wear and tear on the card? Am I in need of drivers for the mac? I plan on purchasing the HXR-FMU128 and I want to make sure I can easily get the footage from camera.

i just put my sd card in my computers card reader, i dont see why youd use the camera unless youre going to use that flash harddrive.

Have you installed Sony's software on that computer? You don't have to use it to import footage, but I think you have to have it installed for the computer to recognize the camera. What software are you going to use to edit?

Okay, that is funny, I am reading 'mounting issues' and I am thinking physically mounting the camera, like to a tripod or something :)

I think the connections on te SD card are larger and more robust than USB connectors in my opinion. I ALWAYS take the SD card and use a reader.
