SCRIPT FEEDBACK GUIDELINES

Writing is hard. It’s a very personal and humbling thing to do. It’s an activity that you do alone and because of it we take our work and criticism of it very personally.

That said, the only way we can get better is with honest feedback. So, a few guidelines to help things proceed smoothly:

1. Be honest but use tact when giving people feedback. Don't start your feedback out with "Your script sucks."

2. Be specific. Let people know what you like, and let them know what didn’t work for you. It doesn’t help someone to simply say you don’t like something, but it does help them when you’re specific and say “I’m not sure what your main character wanted in X scene.” Or, “I didn’t understand your character because I didn’t know enough about him.” Or, “I didn’t understand your story logic, for X/Y/Z reasons.”

3. Reading / Feedback period will be two weeks. Voting will close on the 19th of September and winners will be announced then.

I have to say I was really impressed with the quality of the scripts/stories given the 10 page limit.
The stories were complete, believable, and well crafted over all.
I've been on many script forums - the submissions here were far, far better.
I can't wait to read something other than drama (yuk!) from these same writers.
I like adventure stories. Adventure ScriptFest!

There are some really good ones in this batch. I was going to comment on how I was surprised by all the dramas...until I remembered that was a requirement. Now I have to go back and make sure everything was a drama. :)
