Anyone know if there are any companies that will be making a loupe for the lcd? The one that comes with the cam is terrible, even after shortening it. If another company made one and it was better than the stock loupe, I'd buy it if the price was right.

You should harrass Dan Chung - DSLR geek

He has something to do with the people who make this .. http://www.pinknoise-systems.co.uk/magfinder-p-614.html

I tried holding it over the FS100 and it was great

I told him to get the correct mount made pronto

What don't you like about it?

I'd like some more magnification. I fit a piece of magnified glass in the finder but the thing fell apart on me.

Ahh, okay. That's funny because when I was using it, I liked that it didn't have more magnification. If it did, the corners would crop out on it.

if you want a LOT of magnification, try out the DP4 :) It's got A LOT and is REALLY good.

Heres you go DM. 3x magnification. A modified version of my loupe seen here:

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?258034-any-suggestions-for-monitor-viewfinder-rig-system-matte-box-etc.-for-FS-100

Full camera LCD functionality in any direction with some very minor differences. Removes quickly. Loupe has diopter. About $75 in parts (that includes the loupe) and it FLIPS. Here is the micoflip.

I'll cosign on a separate Mico's post - on another post he used a Hoodman Hoodloupe 3.0 plus the velcro mount and the hoodriser, which I've used with success.

hi mico, actually i'm confused. is this loupe that flips up the hoodman 3.0 + riser? did you cut it yourself to make it flip?

thank you.

I use both, the hoodman and this for the flip:

http://www.amazon.com/Flashpoint-LCD-Foldaway-Viewfinder-magnification/dp/B004HD3G6Q/ref=pd_sim_p_1

Both need the hoodman hood riser.

I also have to mention, regarding those pictures, specifically the side handle. The Sony 1/4" thread hole for the side grip is made of soft weak aluminum and it stripped when I placed and tightened the handle too much on a shoot one day. Sony repaired it and I asked Brian Berkey at berkysystems to make me a block that would not allow the thread to get stripped again and Brian came through with one that has 3 points of contact on the camera body and won't allow it to get stripped again. Thanktyou Brian.

thanks mico. i think i'd prefer the hoodman because it doesn't magnify. but the hoodman does not flip--how do you make it flip???

Hoodman loupe does not flip and I have not modified it to flip. What your see flip is the 3x magnification loupe I linked to. There might be a cheap loupe that flips without too much magnification. Do a search maybe theres one out there. You'll still need the hoodman hood riser.
