I'm conducting a zoom lens shoot-out for the Sony FS-100 and thought I'd have a little contest to see if anyone can guess my top picks.

Here is my blog post with the list of lenses and the entry.

solid line ups, the wide zoom is a shoe in but the normal and tele line ups are tough!

are you going for a set or looking at individual glass?

firslty the canons dont work

the nikons focus the wrong way

focussing the wrong way may be fine as long as they all focus the wrong way

11-16 may be great but leaves hole paired with a 35-70

it has to work as a set

Good point about them having to work as a set and having holes when paired. Those will will be considered under intangibles but basically each lens in each category will be considered on its own merit and then after the fact that criteria will come into play.

Look forward to your upcoming articles. I've enjoyed your content with other cameras in EventDV and EventDV Live, and with live mixer and switchers (looking forward to the Blackmagic ATEM TV Studio, and read many other reviews for the ATEM 1 model).

I'm using a sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 nikon mount, a tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 nikon mount (using a $50 Fotodiox F-mount to E-mount adapter), and I've tried a sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 canon mount with a Kipon adapter.

I only found out that a few Sigma lenses might be parfocal. The 17-50 (but prob not the 18-50) and the 50-150 (both 2.8) so I am going to do my best to add the 50-150 to this test today.

I'm going to pass on testing the wide zooms on this round as I don't like my sample size and want to wait for the newly announced Sony 18-50 F2.8. But the normal zooms and long zooms are all lined-up and ready to go in a few hours.

Thanks Allan. I enjoy putting the articles together and doing some primary research.

Next up is the Atem 1 M/E, I'm testing on Sept 7 & 17th this month but that feature won't be published until the Winter EventDV live edition (the FS100 lens article is for the fall EventDV live edition).
