I just contacted Berkey to see if they had a FS100 baseplate in the works. It's still at the prototype stage but hopefully will be ready in just over a month... No idea of price as yet.

Does anyone have any more info on these? I am now in the market for a baseplate, and this is what I want, but no sign of it's release yet??

Use the following message system and I'm sure they'll get back to you quickly. Let us know what they say.

I sent off an email, and this is what he sent back...

We just got the first near final prototype finished today and it tested out well.

We're going to make a few minor changes and do a run of them - hopefully next week. I know, it's been due out for some time but well....other things got in the way but it's almost done....almost.

I am eagerly awaiting this and cannot wait, thanks to Brian for responding so quickly!!

Berkey System is now shipping the Baseplate - I just got mine in to replace what I was using already for a rail system/baseplate solution and so far it works great. Here are some closeup photos of the Baseplate on my FS100:

I've been using the new baseplate for a few days now, and I'm really liking it. I have the baseplate bolted to the camera in about 4 places, it will not move, at all, it's now a part of the camera, very solid.

DM_Rider, what length are those rods? It looks like you have a Berkey shoulder pad on there, but mounted off one rod; any comments on how that works with the whole rig on the shoulder?

I believe they are 16" rods. I had the pad off the the side just to get it out of the way, usually have it on both.

How do find the Berkey shoulder pad DM? I am considering getting one.

Really like it. Compact, sturdy, versatile, does the trick. Had it rigged up on a red one a few days ago, handled the camera great, even with a heavier setup.

What are you using for a top handle?

whoa!!! that's a pretty expensive assembly. Unfortunately, I can't buy just the baseplate, which is all I need. Too bad I have to buy all the other parts and pieces.

I missed the part where the price was mentioned. but judging from your reaction I may not bother tracking that dog down.

I'm investigating a system for the FS100, have yet to buy but am attracted to this camera. I recall someone saying that they were less than happy with the way this handle attaches to the baseplate. I'm trying to find pictures that show this connection point.
Can anyone steer a link my way please? Appreciated.

nah, curiosity has the better of me I need to know the price now...
