Hi, I have just got my FS-100 today. I also ordered Sony LA-EA1 Amount to Emount adapter and Sony 24-70 Zeiss F 2.8 lens. It works together but I can't control iris, and auto focus. Iris control worked with nex vg-10 but not with FS-100. Should I return them? Which zoom lens do you suggest for low light?

Yeah, thatīs a known problem - the only glass the FS100 speaks with in the moment, is the kit lens (and boy how they are talking - I might add).

But it isnīt exactly known as the queen of the night. So, no dice in the moment.

Sorry, I should have checked camera more, it control the iris, but it doesn't control auto iris or auto focus. I think I will keep it for low light conditions.

Firmware update? Think this might apply to you?

I went to the Sony download page and it shows that Sony, the-hater-of-all-things-Mac, only supports Windows for the firmware update (.exe). Are you kidding me? So if you have a Mac, you can't update the fireware on the mount?

That firmware is not for the FS100

There's firmware for the mount itself? Will the FS100 let you update it like that?

The FS100 manual says that it doesn't provide any auto control when using the Alpha adapter.

The FS100 manual says that it doesn't provide any auto control when using the Alpha adapter.

That's probably true because the manual was prited before the firmware was available. But I have seen a couple different posts that it did work with the glass the op mentioned.
(I don't know if they updated the adapter with a camera and then popped it on the FS100 though.) If he already bought the glass and adapter, it certainly isn't going to cost anything to try.

Please...the firmware update has nothing to do with FS100. It's auto focus support for NEX stills camera not FS100.

I agree, the firmware update has nothing to do with the FS100. Sony says it's firmware is for the adapter, not the stills cameras. If it works for the VG10 why do you think it won't help on the FS100?
(granted, from what I read it's not fast (at least on the still cams) but if you already own the fs100, the adapter, and the applicable glass, why wouldn't you upgrade the firmware?)

This auto focus functionality update is NOT for VIDEO cameras but for NEX-3 and NEX-5 cameras.
