Hey, I need a bit of guidance.

I've been doin a little animation using a program called toon boom... but I really want to do some 2d "cartoony" style animation using after effects... I just figure i kinda know the interface and it'll be a much better way to learn after effects anyways!!

so... I've got a drawing of a guy... basically... i drew it in flash and saved it as an SWF.. when I import it into AE, I composite the background and voila... the picture of the guy basically is 5 seconds... starts with a closed mouth and ends with an open mouth... i figured it'd be easy enough to link it up to some wave file and use an expression to kinda make it go closer to the end when it's louder and back to the beginning when the sound is quieter.... using the time remapping tool...

well this seemed all well and good... a kinda round a bout way of doing things... and by no means perfect... but it's proven way more dificult... is there an easier way ???
