View Full Version : How do I record sound in S & Q (slow motion) mode?

Hello,

Just wondering why I am not able to record sound when I am using the "S&Q" slowmotion mode in 60frames per second for recording in "1080/24p FX mode"

I was under the impression that the camera could do that since Philip Bloom mentioned it in one of his videos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You have to record 1080p60 and then conform to 24p with cinema tools.

Ahh okay, so basically I'd record 60p, then slow it down to playback at 40% speed in post on my 24p timeline?

Actually, Final Cut and most editing programs will squeeze all of the 60 frames in the 24p instead of stretching it out. Use Cinema Tools to conform the footage. It's fast and works great!

if you wanted to go that route, you'd have to edit in a 60p timeline.

Depends upon what you use for editing, in my Avid DS, i link to the re-wrapped h.264, and hold down "F' while dragging the clip to the timeline and it appears as 60P frames in a 23.98 timeline, so slow-mo is pretty much instant and painless with some gear....
