we are going to take some time to revise the rules and such, so the 48 hour fest will be a good interlude, as well as a good testing ground.

You are personally doing a local 48 hour fest, or you mean the next dvxuser fest will be a 48 dvxuser fest?

I'd love to see the fest become more of a "Landmine Fest" and encompass everyone at dvxuser, reduser and scarletuser. Then with cross promotion on all three sites I bet entries would explode in number.
