I notice they are calling it the worlds first "1080i/720p/480i multi-format camcorder".

Guess maybe they felt 1080p was a stretch.

It is absolutely, unquestionably, thoroughly a 1080p camera.

According to specs, its 1080p/i works like the DVX's 480p/i.

For some reason, panny is not pumping the 1080p angle. This could be due to a number of things, but perhaps they are not willing to get called on whatever technicalities are created when converting 1080i to 1080p. I hope someone asks Jan this question at the demo.
