T/C reverts back from Free Run to Rec Run

I use Free Run TC as a 'poor man's ToD TC' by setting the preset to the time of day then using free run to keep it up to date. I have noticed that it slips out of free run after an hour or so, reverting to Rec run and thus obligating the raisin d'être for free run. In the first hour, it continues to free run, even after powering down or changing glass. This is what I would expect. However, after 'a while' I am back in Rec Run. So glad I am not handing over to another editor.

I know User Bits can be set to time & date (done that), but it would be more useful to have it in TC for BITC.

Any ideas or workarounds?

I hope there will be a software update as there's a few menu glitches and UI issues...

Manual says nay ;-)

• Even if the time code advances in the [REC
RUN] mode, the time code may not be recorded
sequentially in the following cases:
– When the recording format is changed.
– When the images are recorded on the memory
card and the flash memory unit
simultaneously.
– When the recording media is removed.
• [REC RUN] is selected automatically for the
Slow & Quick Motion recording.

REGENERATE
Reads the last time code of the previous
recording from the recording media and
records the new time code consecutively
from the last time code during the
backspace editing.
The time code runs in [REC RUN] mode
regardless of the setting of [TC RUN].
