Some more details? Did you transcode the footage?

yea yea
sorry, just copied over from the card
did not optimize (transcode to prorez)
the inspector list it as 29.97
dropped into a 23.98 timeline
gave me an orange render bar
background rendering took a few minutes (older macbook pro)
didn't see any interlacing of combing in the footage in the viewer/canvas/whatever its called these days
exported short sequence to the desktop
plays in quicktime perfectly with no evidence of extra frames or interlacing or anything. looks as though i did the proper reverse telecine in compressor. inspector in QT list it as 23.98 FPS
I know its sort of a non issue at this point as the GH1 has sort of been replaced buy the GH2 but i still use one as a C cam and its nice to be able to skip this step.

Thanks, good to know, even though for me it isn't a non-issue: I'm just a hobbyist, and still using the GH13.

Sorry, newbie question, but how do you convert the 29.97 time line to 23.98, i.e., drop it?
In the Project Library, highlight a Project, open the Inspector, there's a button with the icon of an open end wrench at the bottom right.
