I've been using the FS100 for the past week on a boat job and it's perfect as far as setting it up how I want. I have the camera rigged with the Berkey top plate, carbon rod running up with a marshall monitor, and a kenyon KS6 gyro on the base. I love how versatile and boxy the camera is. It allows for so many different setups.

The first paying job I have with this camera and it just happens to be the worst combo ever, cameras and water.

That's a cool setup. Gyros are great...I love Greek food! ;)

Sweet gig! I'm with you on the box shape. Shot a job multiday commercial job on the F3 with Red primes. The whole time I was fighting the camera form factor... Rear eyecup always in the way, side flip out LCD to far back for HH use (with heavy PL lenses).

The lens is a Tokina 11-16, nikon mount

I'll post the shot later

As far as a tether goes, you woulnd't drop your camera on solid ground would you? Same deal over water ;)

Buck managed to drop his EX1 into the water a couple of times. There are no rogue waves on solid ground. LOL

Haha, well my worry over water is that once the camera drops, it sinks :) Over ground I'd only worry about this filming a dangerous scene over quicksand! :P

Do you have any more photos of the camera boat? How did they counterbalance for you hanging off the side up there? Or, do you have to wait until the boat planes out to climb up there? Rouge waves... I dunked a betacam once.

Looks like a lot of fun.

How much stabilization does the gyro give you?

A gyro really helps a lot. It doesn't take away every little bump, but after some practice it gets pretty dang close.

I'm working on getting permission to post a clip.

Here's the boat tower. A person on each end of it

Pretty incredible setup. Must be crazy cruising that high over the water! How does the Gyro perform compared to something like a Glidecam?

Ohh Boy! pretty cool. Can't believe two fellas hanging on both ends playing see-saw. :D

Look forward to some footage.
