Anyone knows a good place (other than BHphoto) to buy a Canon FD lens adapter for the fs100?

Thanks

There are many sources of FD->NEX adapters - including eBay. Has anyone actually used one, and can recommend it? Is the Fotodiox a good choice?

I like my fotodiox.

That's a rebranded Kipon adapter. Good fit at both ends and works well. I almost bought it from B&H too but noticed the Kipon brand though it was sold as Bower. I ended up buying a Kipon brand for $60 on ebay.

Anyone tries this one?

It's German, and terribly expensive - but then... we need a terribly high quality, don't we? Comments please.

Well, yes - but the metal must be machined precisely, or it will stick if too tight, have play if too loose... Please let us know how this cheap one fits!

I already have a chinese M42-to-NEX. No play or anything. My lenses (Zeiss Flektogon 35mm f/2.4, Zeiss Pancolar 50mm f/1.8, Helios 44 58mm f/2, Pentacon 28mm f/2.8, Takumar 105mm f/2.8) focus perfectly from close to infinity. Feels rock solid. A chunk of metal. Will probably last longer than either the camera or the lenses. And it was cheap. The chinese nowadays often know how to build cheap and good quality, since they have computer aided CNC machines and engineers operating them just like we do in the west.

Also, the tolerances on SLR lenses are more sloppy than on cinema lenses, hence the adapters are less complicated to make.

I'm sure one would prefer super-expensive professional adapters for five- or six-figure cinema gear with low tolerances, like big Angenieux or Cooke lenses. But I would never buy a metal tube adapter that costs even a third of what my lens does. Like using a $300 novoflex on a $900 nikon 17-35.

I can post more about the Nikon-to-NEX and Canon EF-to-NEX when I receive those.

Not the Canon FD version since I own no Canon FD lenses, but I got the M42-to-NEX and it works like a charm.

Has anyone purchased the EOS to NEX adapter from Adorama?

http://www.adorama.com/CZEOSNEX.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=cj_3726866

I bought one and have been pretty disappointed. A good bit of play both with the rotation and side to side movements. Also, it seems to be upside down as my lens presents itself with witness marks on the bottom rather than the top. Anyone else have this problem with other adapters?

Gil, I'm curious also of other Canon EOS to NEX mount adapters. Thanks for the information regarding the $50 Adorama adapter. I'll stay away from it. Looking for others as well. Obviously you won't have aperture control (I believe Kipon / Bower makes one with an aperture IN THE adapter itself, which may cause image issues.

I actually just returned the Adorama and ordered the Kipon. Hopefully won't cause any image issues because I'm already invested into Canon lenses! Why doesn't Novoflex make an EOS to NEX? Or MTF. Seems like there's a market - even for a dummy adapter.
