Hi Guys,

Unfortunately I live here in Vancouver, BC Canada as riots are still ringing out here.

I spent the whole day filming the anticipation leading up to Game 7 (Vancouver Canucks vs Boston Bruins) and unfortunately I managed to grab a few shots of the fallout from the riots which ensued after the fact.

All with the NEX-FS100. Was a bit nervous bringing such a camera to such a dangerous environment as this. Didn't get the actual burning of the cars...etc. But got good peripheral stuff.

Will post soon. I love the way this camera sees in the dark, PERFECT for such situations as a night time riot.

ENG at its purest.

Glad you and the camera are safe.
Somehow I never thought that would happen up there but people are people.

Glad you're safe, was pretty disappointed to hear about the riots this morning.

Was there too... Sadly, it reminds me some regrettable scenes in France, nothing else could better transform a simple sport defeat into a national shame.
Hockey is in every canadian heart. That's where control or limit hardly exist with reason, everything just burn for the best or the worse... ... I saw police force... But you can't control a crowd... could you?

I just wish every crowd in every city know how to unit themselves to protest and fight for a world and not for the present reason!

Hey , what are you doing in Vancouver by the way?
Happy of your F100?

Feel free to drop me a line if you feel like...

I hate to say it , but I wasn't surprised driving to get gear for a shoot today and seeing the smoke from the city burning last night. 1994 all over again. Unbelievable that this is what we show the world,

Who do they think they are, Detroit? I'm curious how many were from out of town? I remember recently, the riots in Oakland, and the looting..
all done by people not from Oakland.

I wasn't surprised either. I was here in 1994 too. It seems like people in this town are just waiting for an excuse to start stuff...
Symphony of Fire was cancelled for a few years due to violence. I saw plenty of grafiti saying Olympics Riot 2010. Always angry people
with signs for something or other at the Art Museum steps.

Yeah it's a pretty place.. with lots of dirt below the surface.

Who do they think they are, Detroit?

it's funny that Detroit has that reputation and a place like Vancouver doesn't... then this happens.

In all honesty I think in any large city you can take anti-authority figures (as seen in some of the photos) and they can be the spark to ignite the fire of a booze-fueled crowd that's filled with anger from personal loss (don't laugh, hockey is that serious for Canada...) Did anyone else see the photos of "punk" looking characters getting into it with the police?

Looking forward to seeing your footage.

I remember some car tipping, window smashing down on Calgary's electric avenue back in the day. Can't remember if the stamps lost the grey cup or the flames lost the stanley cup (damn, it might have even been the blue jays losing the world series now that i think of it). Anyway, wish I'd had my camera there!
