ROCKMORE

I know this discussion has been more than covered. I need to find the best low cost acceptable way to record directly into my 60D and external at the same time.
My mics are causing a lot of noise recording directly into the camera. It's out of the question to sync up every shot because of the high volume of files I shoot in a few days and limited post production time once I return to the studio.
The places I shoot are very remote (Irian Jaya, Java, Sumatra, etc) and I don't usually have qualified assistants. Batteries are also a problem because I may go for days where there is no electricity.
I can always find somebody to boom for interviews, but would probably only post sync in those situations and use the external recorder for wild sound the rest of the time.
Anyone have experience routing this Tascam into the 60D, or another choice with balanced XLR inputs
