when going from xpro to adobe encore DVD does one have to go through sorenson squeeze first?

I am not familiar with the feature set of Encore, but if it does the MPEG2 encoding, then there is no need to go through Sorenson Squeeze. If it doesn't. then you compress the elementary streams in Sorenson in preperation for the authoring.

thanks for the response.... :)...i am debating between purchasing adobe encore with xpro.....or using xpro with sorenson to reel dvd.....anyone else familiar with these programs and how they work together?

Well seeing as Sorenson and ReelDVD are bundled with XPress Pro, you can always give that shot to start with to see how it goes.

I only have the academic version of xpro...which doesn't come with any of the 3rd party software....I appreciate the feedback...anyone else using xpro and adobe encore?

Ah... never mind ;)

I have used Sorenson and ReelDVD for a recent project and it worked quite well. The project was 24p anamorphic for most of the DVD ecept for one behind the scene segment which was shot on the DVX100.
