Hi. I am a rookie in the progressive business, though I've been editing much on pro and in 50i PAL.

So with the new pro update I can capture and edit 25P ( I work in PAL) footage, but output to tape will be 50i, inless I have Mojo? What is the difference, would't it look the same on the screen?

How do I proceed to get as most resolution as possible out to
DV, looking as great as possible. Do I need to perform some
sort of pulldown, etc.

You wouldn't need Mojo for the output unless you wanted to to avoid rendering. If you choose to render for output, it will be 25i but the important part of a 25p project is that all processing of effects is done frame based (1/25) and not interlace (1/50) preserving the "progressive" look and feel of the original material.

thanx mate

I thought that normal PAL tv is 50i, then what does 25i involves? Isn't the video converted to 50i at output to tape,
if not what is the difference between 50i and 25i ?

It's all semantics... when discussing formats, I isually refer to the frame rate and whether it is progressive or interlace. Things have gotten confusing over the years where the frame rate has become the field rate...

So 25i means 25 frames per second interlace format
1080p/24 means 1080 at 24fps and progressive
50i just means 50 fields... so in essence 25i and 50i are the same.
