So anybody have any experience with the Sony 16mm E Mount f2.8 lens?

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666192755#compatability

It is almost too cheap not to pick up, but I was wondering if anyone has used it and if it was worth even it's low price?

You may have already seen this thread, but you may not have noticed that they're flying the FS100 with a 16mm ($188 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B003NRHAH8/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&condition=used?tag=battleforthew-20) used from Amazon Warehouse):

My guess is that the price on this lens will start to creep upwards soon.

It's actually not a bad little lens. A bit soft wide open, but at 5.6-8 it's sharp sharp. Worth the money for sure

I bought this lens used and really like it. So much so that i bought the VCL-ECU1 wide adapter attachment for it, they make a fisheye attachment too, thinking the add on to the lens would soften the image but I'm surprised by its sharpness and you get all the electronic capabilities. f 2.8 and Ultra light weight and small are other pluses.

How wide does the VCL-ECU1 make it?

I was looking at those conversion lenses also. From the Sony specs sheets, it shows the VCL-ECU1 with a 0.75 magnification, which would make the lens a 12mm. There is also the Fisheye adaptor, VCL-ECF1, with a 0.62 magnification spec, which would put it at a 9.92mm. I may just have to pick up on of the 16mm Lenses and those adaptors.

The other plus is the lens has a 49mm thread too which means you can add nd with step up ring to your fader or whatever with a screw on hood or you can use a mattebox , both without vingetting. The wide adapter has a non removable hood which makes nd'ing problematic using it in bright sun.
