I just noticed it uses RCA jacks instead of BNC.
What is the deal with that? Even the XL2 has
a BNC for composite video out.
Is this the final model, or will there be changes
before July?

it would be SMART to add BNC's rather then rca. SO much more "PROFESSIONAL". I hate using those 75ohm BNC to RCA adapters because cameras use cheap consumer rca plugs on their gear. Canon was SMART to add bnc to the XL2.

BNCs are nice, but a little harder to hide on a camera so small. Suppose they could be left exposed... are you talking about composite video or HD component? Three BNC jacks take up a lot of room - mostly because of the male diameter, not the jack itself.
You foresee going component HD out of your HVX a lot do you? It isn't beyond the realm to think some might - no head wear on P2 cards.
Hmm...

If it's a clean 720p signal then I forsee the tape mechanism growing cobwebs.
We would be doing a lot of studio shots with the JVC, so it would be
nice to have BNCs for the component HD even if they stick out 4 inches.
It's better than having rca adapters pop off every time you pan.
