Hey everyone. First time poster, longtime lurker.

I'm very interested in the new ProHD camera and in a position at work where I can, actually must, buy a new camera very soon.

Are there any vendors who have started pre-selling the GY-HD-100U and/or the BTE-HD50U deck?

Also, is there any info on the new FireStore device that will be offered as an accessory? I understand it will write HDV files to the (80 Gig?) hard drive, but will it be able to write standard DV files as well?

One more question, and I'll stop for now. How can I accurately monitor ProHD footage when editing in Final Cut Pro 5?

No news on pre-sales. JVC announced the ship date has moved, they were talking about June, now they're saying July.

I didn't hear anything about the Firestore device, but someone else may know, hopefully they'll post. I would certainly expect it to support standard DV as well as HDV.

As for monitoring -- you can't monitor through firewire output, so you'll probably need an HDTV-output card on your Mac. But that's a Mac question, I'll defer to the Mac experts on that one.
