View Full Version : Clips in group mode don't play?

I have this question on the AXP board at Avid (aka FatDaddy). No answers and I thought Michael might be able to help.

It looks like group clips in quad mode don't play individualy only one clip at a time full screen. How are you suppose to see the other camera (or cameras) to know when a switch is good?

I have a two camera and three camera project and it seems like "Group Clip" is good for syncing and making ruff switch and then go back and fix everything because you are switching blind.

Any thoughts?

Real time multicamera play only works on Meridien hardare with the special multicam resolutions. On all other systems, it is not real time, meaing that only one will play but all others will tag along frame accurately.

Michael,
I am working on two projects using the group clip mode and have found out that you can scrub through the timeline (with blue bar) and the group clips update in real time (just like in the time line/record monitor), this makes a big difference. It is actually usable now.

I don't miss the media composer as much now.

Yes, scrub play is different beast than real time play. Grabbing the timeline and moving it will have all camera update with it.
