Hi,
I just got my dvx100a today, I went and filmed some testing footage to see how it performed, and when I tried to open avid (with the camera turned on and connected via firewire) my whole computer freezes.
I Tried to open avid with the camera off and that worked fine, but when I go to capture avid can't recognize my camera. I tried to manually tell it through the edit deck option but it does no good. I also tried to use the deck config option under settings but that was a dead end as well.
Weird thing is that windows explorer will show the camera icon and it plays fine there.
PLEASE HELP!!!

ok no one has resonded but just incase someone else needs this info here is what I did to fix the problem...
Re-installed windows, yup I took the cheap way out, but hey when you're dealing with a crappy os like xp pro sometimes it's just easier to start over.
Anyway all works now.

Hmm.. well obviously you had a weird driver in windows if reinstalling worked. Maybe next time you could have checked the version or checked the net more with the OHCI (sp?) drivers. Im glad to see you got it working and cant wait to see some of your work. Keep it up!

Which version of the Service Pack are you running on XP? Do you the OS "clink" when you connect the camera? Connect the camera first, then launch the application to see if that works.
