Xeon vs. Pentium 4 Extreme

Ok, I've decided to build a screamin' tower system to run Avid Xpress Pro (with Mojo).

I'm wondering is it REALLY worth investing in the Xeon? Is a single Xeon at 3.02 gHz ok? Or is the dual-Xeon the only real choice?

Or will the latest Pentium 4 Extreme (3.6gHz, L3 cache) be well-powered enough.

I understand what Avid specifies as qualified hardware.
