I did a test capturing 25p from Vegas and then importing to Avid
As i see it i canīt capture in avid 25 p in a better resolution than 28:1 but if i capture first from Vegas and then a i imported to avid i get a resolution of 14:1
Does it make sense?
Is it better this long way...

I canīt even capture in 28:1 in Avid. So i donīst know if itīs getting better.

Any Vegas and Avid user...

And i was thinkin i could capture from Vegas and then imported in a 50i project to Avid 8with no 14:1 resolution)
Would it be good? Anyone try this weird experiments

I am just tryng to stablish the best way for capturing 25p footage without going to a expensive machine.

Any opinion.

There is something wrong with your system if you do not have DV25 as a capture solution, or import solution.

DV25 is native resolotion as captured
14:1 is roughly 3 times more compressed than DV25
28:1 is roughly 5.6 times more compressed than DV25

You should have two capture resolutions on your digitize window:

DV25 and 28:1. DV25 is what you want for native digital quality as captured by the camera.
