View Full Version : Are there any PMW-F3L cameras in stock anywhere?

Usually I'd just go to B&H or one of the other major authorized resellers to buy a new camera. Now that I have cash in hand the first wave of cameras seems to have dried up. (It did seem that the F3ks lingered longer, but I can't afford one.)
I'd prefer to find an F3L somewhere other than CA if possible, but may consider any options.
Thanks,
Duke

Neither have them in stock at this time.
Here in Europe I hear there will not be any deliverys in Q2, and in Q3 we will get new info. If you didn't order one already my guess is you will have a hard time for delivery even in Q3.

That's a little overly dire, don't you think?
There was a Tsunami, people. Sony had to shut down some factories and so did some of their suppliers. Cameras will begin to ship again soon; believe me tey want to get them out there. When they start getting out there they will be pushing hard to make up for lost time.

along with tape stock, it's one of the biggest things the industry is struggling with now. just about everybody is recycling stock to get by right now. might finally push everybody into the frontier of going all tapeless until archive finally... who knows when their plants will be up and running again, Japan has a lot of other things to take care of first.

I dont think that anyone here is thinking oh my god what is keeping (Sony)the japanese from delivering... we all feel very bad for Japan it could have happened on this side of the globe aswell.
We, I just wanted to know if any reputable Sony dealer in the USA might have a sony pmw f3 L in stock ? Thats all.
This camera was scarces from the beginning then the tsunami came so I do understand it will take longer ..just hoping somebody cancelled their order from the first batch
ps...Great grade on the SLog footage btw Tom.Wong.

Certainly wasn't trying to offend or be pedantic. Just wanted to remind people of why this is happening.
In the past, other products have been scarce from various manufacturers for various reasons. The last of availability of the Sony PMW-F3 is specifically because of Japan's current troubles. Sony was fully prepared to ship in volume and as soon as they get some issues sorted out i am confident they will deliver.

I think the faults of internet posting is nobody ever knows your tone of voice or intent. Mitch is one of the most well mannered, well spoken intelligent people I know. Much more well spoken than i an :p

Oh wow, i was kind of shocked when i just discover that the actual price of the F3 is way cheaper than the sony MRSP (just checked abel cine an bhphoto and they're both $13.5K).
That means i could get the slog update for "free" lol.

Its even cheaper than that at $13,300. So you're right in a way. The S-Log is for free! :)
