Hi!!!

Its feels so great posting around here in this forum because everybody is so kind. Here is my question:

I am shooting a documentary that i am plning to offer to TV.
The time has come to think about photographys to scan to include int eh documentary. I am working with a 25p project and i wonder which dpi(i have mz 1600) and size and file format (TIFF?)for scaning shoul be ideal in order to get:
1.a photography which icould animate and zoom 800%
2.just a plain and unanimated photography

And if go to a filmout should this considerations (resoluiton, dpi ,etc) change?

I heard that there is a limit for DPI and that overriding that limit will jsut cause the avid (my is xpress pro and i have the famous mojo) to freeze.

Are ther any settings consideration (in avid) regarding the use of photographys in a 25p project?

If the setting and all resolution considerations are hte same it would be nice to have that information as well as this is my first time to offer something for TV :)

Are you using the Pan & Zoom plug-in? If so, make sure you select the "progressive" render setting while in a 25p project. These frames shouldn't be freezing your Mojo - what is the workflow you are using?

As far as going back to film, you will most likely be taking the entire finished master back to filmm stills and moving video. Video is 72DPI. Nothing you can do there. I doubt very much you want to go back to each of the stills and recreate the moves either in HD or 2K?

Thanks MichaelP,

I am just in the scanning step, so i to choose dpi and other settings. I just wanted to know from someone with experience in mixing scanned photographs which should be the best dpi , because i have read that it doesnt have to do with having just the max dpi. That there could be a dpi that would be enough, adn different for each of the cases i have already mentioned.

As hardware workflow is concerned i am using a canon9900F and a a DellDimension pentium Xeon dual processor 3,06 Ghz on windows XP , 136gb hd and 2gbRam .

But althoug it may sound great it have proved to freeze with heavy 16it phtoshop files...so i wanted to avoid such freeze-things with Avid .....anyway..the mojo may help with that...i guess......

I will definitly try for the first time the pan &zoom pluggin and thänks MichaelP for the recomendation och checked the progressive checkbox. I guess this is the best way to do the job or??????

As video is 72 DPI does that mean that i would have to scan a t 72 dpi? excuse me if the question is too basic but i am a beginner in mixing photos with a video project and i just wanted to be sure not to make silly mistakes.

And if it would be so...to scan at 72 dpi....it would be that if i want to zoom 800% i would need to scan at 72*8 DPI ~576DPI????

Thanks for your patience
