The place I bought my AF100 is not sure they are going to carry the FS100, so I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a Sony distributor that I can talk with and find out about getting in line.

It IS about that time isn't it Rick? Congrats. Please post footy and lessons learned when you get it!! :)

Yep, given we are talking just a few months away. You can be guaranteed that I will be testing the FS100 pretty thoroughly to see how I feel about it. :)

Well, if I hear nothing then it will be B&H I guess. I'd really like to get an idea of what the actual cost is going to be. Maybe that is what people are waiting for.

I will probably go through B&H also. I think they are at the, "Notify when in stock" stage and haven't gotten to taking pre-orders yet.

Edit: Yep, and they still have the ETA as, "Aprox. Arrival in July", listing.

Let me sign up for that, then I'll know when they are taking pre-orders.

Give me some names and experiences! :) (And PS, I do use many of the sponsors, like Kessler and CPM, both great companies)

Ablecine is taking pre-orders with a $500 deposit. I am about #16 in the pre-order list. I worked through Matt Livingston and he's been great so far.

B&H just took my preorder for $4999. I had to at least try to save the sales tax. They didn't know what number I was on the list, but the guy said he hadn't been able to take a preorder before this.

He also said he last heard June/July arrival confirmed at NAB, so he didn't have the new news on May. I assume B&H wouldn't get them later than Abel.

Interesting, I had asked B&H to email me when they were taking pre-orders, but haven't received anything yet. I think the May delivery and the final price just came a day or so ago, at least, that is what I got from Abel. They said Sony told them directly. You never know. :)

I was on B&H's list too, and I hadn't heard a peep. I just decided to call because of the news today. The guy said he didn't think they had a list, but then it worked. Hopefully I'm early on the list. Also hopefully B&H doesn't get the shaft from Sony for some reason...

I've always had excellent service with B&H so I wouldn't worry. This is the first time I've dealt with Ablecine, but so far, they've been great. I know a lot of people on here have had great experiences with them.

Yeah - I actually feel bad bailing on Abel, but $500 in sales tax is no joke. Although CA could certainly use the cash...

I don't blame you, I am out of state so no sales tax for me either. Although I forgot to ask them about shipping. And I wouldn't worry, given I am already #16 or so on the list, I am sure they'll be just fine! :)

I just got an email from B&H and they are now accepting pre-orders. Of course, you have to pay the full price when you put in the pre-order and I did not see any confirmation of delivery dates.

For us in EU, the most reputable source (CVP) still has the almost $7,000 tag (and that is on body only!)

What a pity this cam is not 50/60Hz capable unlike the EX1...
