I need a solid performer. Best combo with my DVX and Avid. 20" or larger. DVI. At least 1600x1200 res. LCD would be cool but not necessary.

Recommendations?

Thanks,

If your wanting a nice component broadcast monitor, I'll sell ya one of my Sony PVM-20L2 monitors. It's in perfect shape and I'd take 2 grand for it.
If your just wanting something cool as a client monitor, a 42" plasma is always cool. I scooped one up from ebay for almost half price not long ago.

I now use a projector with DVI for screening purposed as it has the size I need to jusge pace of an edit. I do not use it for color correction, I still use a broadcast grade NTSC monitor that is properly calibrated. You don't mention what your promary needs are for with the monitor.

I originally meant a computer monitor as opposed to a program monitor. This would be for me to manipulate the Avid interface. I'm running a screaming WinTel machine with an ATI Radeon 9800XT Pro 256meg. Any suggestions as to a solid performing monitor? I'm open to CRT or LCD. I hear that some of these LCD monitors have true black issues. Also, is there a certain size I shouldn't go below for Avid editing? I'm thinking a 20 incher or so.

For a program monitor, I'm planning on picking up a Sony PVM-14M2U. I really like the 4x3/16x9 toggle switch. Not to mention that it is a broadcast monitor that I can use for color correction.

Thanks,

DC, i've always been a fan of Viewsonics. i currently run a single CRT, but will be upgrading to dual LCD. their pro series are where you want to look. benefit of the Pro LCD is an extremely thin bezel frame, very nice for dual monitors. regarding size, you'll be amazed at how much useful space two 17" or 18" screens will provide. my personal feeling is that 20" isn't worth the extra cost if you're running duals. of course, color correction w/ an LCD is crap, so make sure you get that PVM as well.
