Planning to get a DVX 100AE really soon . Does anyone know if Media studio Pro7
is incompatible in any way ?

Should not be any problem. The DVX is a Mini DV camera. The signal on the tape is the same as any mini DV. The quality may be better, but the digital signal is the same.
