This takes care of the ND filter wheel problem:

Well that looks fun. If one's camera budget is that high, why not just get the F3? I realize that includes an external recorder, but still ... I would rather have an F3 with a samurai.

That is the problem with gear lust. Even if you have a F3, you have to get all the proper gizmos and doo-dads to make it look like a "Real Filmmakers" camera. What I find "Sexy" about the FS100 is putting on the supplied hand grip and eyepiece; throwing on my Nikon manual primes and going out into the world and making great images. I plan on getting one of these cameras, but I will get accessories as needed. The first thing I will get is, probably, the Atomos Ninja. After that, I want to spend some money on more lenses, to complement the Nikkor manual prime set I already have. Nobody may believe this, but I am absolutely confident that I can focus those lenses without a follow focus unit. Having fingers on my left hand to focus with has worked for me so far.

Because the F3 needs pretty much the same offset rig and EVF to shoot with it on your shoulder, on top of a price that's $7450 higher. Using non-Zacuto parts, one could put something like this together for several thousand dollars less than the cost of the F3.

And, as David says, with the F100 there is the additional advantage of being able to pull it off the rig to shoot "covert Super 35".

Look forward to getting this camera out on the street.

You can already buy PL mount to E mount adaptors on ebay, e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/ARRI-ARRIFLEX-PL-SONY-NEX-E-MOUNT-/320684606079?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aaa4ac27f

Im planning to reuse the rig of my HVX, but gonna add a v-mount plate to the back.

Also I want to modify the tripod V-plate of my old Digibeta and customize it with a shoulder pad exactly under the body. That should give me a proper shoulder balance.

Don't make much sense because F3 can do 1080p60 (and much more) with an external recorder. Though if I had that kind of budget, I'd get both.
