well, i am a rtvf major, BUT i'm not in the major yet. this school (like many other schools) take students into the major by what their GPA is. i'm pissed! i wish a school would just take me in regarding my skill, not my GPA. i swear once i'm in those classes i'd do well, i mean it's what i want to do. sucks they judge how i do in my other classes to deny me to get into the major!!!! ARRRGHHHH! vent vent vent....anyways.

yea thats sucks! thats the same way it is a univ of north texas. do you own a dvx. im getting mine within the next month or so. i want to get into music videos and doing short narratives. have you had any other training besides at tcu?

yah, i own a dvx and i love it. training? bah, i'm self taught, but i think i do very well for not taking any 'real' training. filmmaking has always been a passion of mine ever since i was in middle/elementary school. i guess you can say it comes naturally.

i cant wait until i get my dvx. when i get it i will be shooting some shorts/ music vid's to build a nice reel. do you have your own editing equip.? i will be editing on premeir most likely. that's if i can't get the g4 powerbook to cut on fcphd.

no, i don't have my own editing equipment. i wanna work my butt off this summer so i can afford a G5 with fcpHD. that's what i'm hoping for. :)

yea that g5 dual is so nice! so what do you do with your dvx since you have no nle. only reason im asking is b/c i will not have a editing equipment, when i get my dvx. im probably gonna try and get premier, avid, or vegas on my pc. but that will be like 1 or 2 months after i get the dvx. so in the mean time, i will just be out filming stuff, and getting used to the camera.

Well, by 2nd weekend do you mean the 7th/8th or 14th/15th? I'll be in town for the first one, but in Japan for the 2nd. I'm right around TCU in Fort Worth but have no problem driving just about wherever.

I know that there was/is planned just shch an event, I don't know if Panasonic will be exhibiting, or if they would bring an HVX (I only saw 2 prototypes at NAB and the show floor one was nearly "worn smooth" from being handled.)

We received 200 affirmative replies during the one week the survey was available. Because of this positive response, we are working to bring a taste of the NAB experience to Dallas for those who are unable to travel to Las Vegas and hope you will join us.

I may go to the post NAB show, we were toying with exhibiting at it, but the booths are a little pricey.

I visit Denton occasionally, but I don't attend there. Are there summer programs there that a DVX user would find interesting, or valuable?

There are some doc classes that they offer. I will be taking one this summer but we have to shoot on the pd150. As far as other stuff I dont know.

HAVE to shoot on the PD150!? That's a prerequsite I would not stand for.

Its all the cams they have I asked if I could use my own cam but the teacher said we work in groups and it would not be fair to others to force them to use and learn different cams to get their projects done in such a short time.
