Does anybody know anyone or anywhere I can rent an ice cream truck for a day (for inexpensive)? I found this (http://www.ice-cream-truck-rental.com/our-prices.php) place, but I can't afford $1395/day. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm located near LA.

Find a good humor truck with a operator and make him an offer. I'm guessing it would be a lot less that $1395 for him to skip his route for a day.....

I can still hear that jingle from when I was a little kid. Everyone would scurry to get some money before he passed us by. That guy drove about 2mph through our block.

a whole month is only 3 X the day rate? rent it for the whole month and you can probably make your money back selling ice cream after your shoot. but seriously, i like grantly's idea

Yeah, that's a good idea. Not a lot of kids on my block, so ice cream trucks come around few and far between, but I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks for the help.

Zaarc, hahaha! I'm actually contemplating that idea...

Just a suggestion if you approach a driver: people that are driving for bigger companies (are there nationwide ice cream truck companies with lots of trucks in different states? I'd assume so) will probably be less open to the idea since there is liability, they could get fired, the company would never allow it, etc. If you can find a guy that runs his own operation, I bet he'd be open to it!

That is crazy to pay that.

Try searching around through craigslist, yp, etc... I rent ice cream trucks here in Nashville and couldnt see more than a hundred or two for the day. Also try allscream.com as they have a USA directory of trucks

Check this out: http://www.cinemavehicles.com/store_inventory.asp?cat=95 - $350-$450/day, and they're frequently open to making deals.

I have done a lot of business with Cinema Vehicles. Recommend them highly.

I'd just run up on a an actual guy and see if i could use it for a day should be a couple hundred, i mean how much do they actually make from selling ice cream anyways. Probably will be worth their while instead of being in the heat selling ice cream
