Ok, a good Eye for framing is important.

But I am pondering on my next production.

Does using a 35mm adapter really make a big difference? Will it lift production value! (asumming that the shots are steady, and framing done well) ?

thanks,
Derrick

Depends. :cheesy:

To tell the truth, since this whole thing started about 35mm adapters for the cams, I've been looking at commercial films' DOF.

I more often see deep focus than shallow.

So. Hmm.

Dan,

I've done the same thing, but noticed the opposite - especially once the cut from coverage occurs. Just watched Motorcycle Diaries and noticed lots of very subtle rack movement everywhere.

Single camera film shows like CSI (all twelve of them) use DOF to great extent in almost every shot.

Coverage definitely goes toward infinity, but I gotta say that the cutaways are full of selective focus.

I've used the mini35 before, and it made a big difference. What is not often talked about is that it not only takes the dof of 35mm but it also takes the characteristics of the lens used. I am definately getting one.

Thanks for the replies.

Can you achieve the same framing with the normal lens compared to 35mm ?

Thanks,
Derrick

Has all this 35mm stuff been figured out yet? Has the cheap one been made and confrimed? I read 25 pages of that one thread a while ago...
