My idea for one of these things was pretty dang simple in concept: I don't want a 180-degree inverted image on tape so why not revert it 180-degrees using a second optical lens assembly?

Idea works like this: Image captured on intermediate screen is inverted upside down and with left and rights mixed up, just like if it were captured on a film. So, to compensate, you basically build another lens or series of lens elements placed after the screen but before the video camera lens to revert it again to correct it so its right side up and left is left and right is right.

Please someone take my idea, spend your hard earned dollars developing it, and let me know when I can buy it from your hugely successful enterprise.

Thank you,
Brian Wells

I don't believe the image is flipped right to left, just upside down. As far as that system goes, I think there have been some tests in the past and it had problems with light loss or something.

umm... all that time figuring out that stuff, you could have flipped it faster in post. . .

Yep. There's a whole bunch of loss going to the ground-glass, so the fewer number of lenses used, the better. Each element cuts the light down a bit.

Plus you can just use the magnet trick to view it correctly in the viewfinder.
