Just a thought, you seem to be all about pitching yourself when it comes to projects. I find that to be a turnoff as far as collaboration goes.
It's possible that New York dvxusers would rather work on projects that aren't focused on a Lebroz storyline.
Not trying to harp on you. That's just my honest impression, take it for what it is. I got that impression from some of your posts where you draw attention to yourself when the topic has nothing to do with you as a personality.
If you're genuinely interested in collaborating with people and not forcing your own brand and ego on them you may find some people who are more receptive to work with you.

I would imagine that one of the problems with tryin to have a filmmaker's group is you end up with too many chiefs and not enough indians.
Was this one of the issues?

Ok I will speak up since I was there. Yeah it seemed everyone was turn off by you wanting to be director-actor-writer all at once. No one wanted to have to deal with someone who just automatically says in the first collaboration I am going to be the star and director. I wasnt sure if anyone took you seriously about all that at first but then when I saw no one posted again and spoke to a few here and there it seems that was it.
I am too busy for anything anyways but thats what happened. The dinner was nice though. Met a lot of nice people. The guy who set it up has his own thing going to. I met Ulysis at Walter Graffs seminar and hes working on some stuff too.
Everyone has his own style of doing things including you so just do your thing and create your art weather its with people here or not.
Peace.

Some people cant deal with flamboyant people and some can. Weather or not you would have gone that far it still rubbed people the wrong way and turned them off. To me, when I see someone like you I think, this guy believes in himself no matter what and thats half the battle for most but you have that in the bag. You just need to be a little more conscience on how somethings you do might not be for everyone and adjust from there. Then, all there is left is to become the King Lebroz you want to be. Before that happens though, maybe toning it down for certain situations will help. I know what it feels like when you feel like you are on top of the world and you want everyone to know it. I was one the vice prez's of this crazy big graffiti crew here in NYC we started in the 80's called the X-Men. It started out just a few friends hanging out but by the end of the school year we had gone city wide with over 500 deep in all boroughs. People would do anything to get into our crew and I really thought we would be the next mafia the way things were going. At that time you couldnt tell me jack about who I was because if you did there would be 5 or 6 X-Men knocking at your door and believe me, its happened. People would just give us stuff just to hang out with us. It was crazy. Of course everyone graduated and people started having kids, a lot got killed but to this day the X-Men crew is still around in some form or another. I thought I would never grow out of that but then I met my x-wife and life moved on for me. I learned to be like a chameleon and change according to the environment. I can say the experience was something I would never give up and graffiti was my start to becoming an artist. Thats who I am today, an artist.

why does that sound familar? X-MEN hmm
that was good advice spike, i memba, and i should have maybe just not said anything
i might be too passionate about things, when you say on top of the world, thats far from the truth, i feel like a peasent fighting so i can have some financial security later to be able to help the world and not look over my shoulder into worrieing, but i am starting to think maybe it is impossible. bush jr. had bush sr. b.gates had mary gates
i got a poor immigrant mother and bad luck working to come in 1st like giacomo did

Yo, nothings impossible. I went from being a tow truck driver to a 3D animator and now film maker. Go figure. You just gotz to keep on keepin on. No matter what happens. Be a doer not a talker. Walk quietly and carry and big stick. You get the idea. Never let them see you coming.
Its not going to come easy but make it look like it did. These are things my grand dad said to me before he died.

:) I used to write RAZE X-Men back in the day. It was Me, Tatu, Soe, and Res1 that started it in 1980 in Brooklyn Tech High school. Tatu was the Prez and we were the 3 vice prez even though it says diff on http://www.at149st.com/
http://www.at149st.com/xmen.html
But thats cool, I dont know who gave them the info. They even have one of my pieces on there. The last known photo of my work. I lost all of my original pics during a move. I lost my original black book with some keith harring stuff in it too.

Yea, I remember the X-men........ big in the early 80's....... My family moved outa Brooklyn(Flatbush) to Jersey(Englewood) when I was in junoir high. 1980 I was a freshman in HS.......... didn't have much contact with Broohlyn except for the phone calls from\to friends I went to school with. I remember the X-men being mentioned in those years, some of the cats I went to Grammar school(P.S. 92 Parkside Ave.) with, attended Brooklyn Tech.
Yea..... Hip Hop was real back then...... with the graffiti, break dancing, rapping and the parties........
Man......... going to those parties back then... I know some of you know what I mean... The Roxy. Funhouse, RoseLand, Disco Fever, Harlem World, Latin Quarter......... there was nothing like being 17-19 and experiencing Hip Hop back then when it was fun............... anyway didn't mean to ramble.......
Just wanted to let Oppr. LOB know..........
I remember the X-men!

Yo C. I remember all those clubs too. The funhouse is where it started for clubbing for me. I remember when madonna used to hang out with us before she ever made a record. We used to hang near the back stage where those little ride cars where and just chill. I was probably the only one that was never coked up in there. Remember that big indian bouncer with the pony tail? He used to let us get over on bringing things in the club and we hooked him up with "stuff". I was a freshman in 80 too. Thats my turning point in life. Everything mattered back then. Had to have "fresh" clothes, the addias with the fat laces with the colored BVDs to match the laces. The Lees with the crease sewn in. The colored Kangols to match all that.
Mt first intro to rap was before that though, my friend came over and said hey lets try this thing called scratching and we tried it on my moms old school turntable with the springy bottom that made the needle jump. So I went out and break danced on the corner to get money to get a real turntable. I was pretty good back then. Hiphop was fun as hell back then. Thats when people would just set up a system in the street and have a few mics for who ever wanted to MC. We used to jam in PS38s school yard and wycoff and gawanas projects. My MC crew was DJ Raze and the Tragic Magic MCees. We used to battle and shit all the time. Man that was fun. Thats when Whodini was still around there, the twins used to come out and battle all the time. One of my friends still has a tape of us doing one of our sets. I just recently gave those original turntables away to my nieghbor too. Had 4 old ass 1200s and a gemini mixer. I think i still have the mixer somewhere. The turntables were just gathering dust for 15 years. One of my MCees used to work at B&H as a sound system salesman not too long ago. His name was Carrie, he had flo like no other but he went into the army and that was that. I thought we were going to get signed because of him.
Anyways, I could ramble on for days too man. Its history that we lived. Who would have ever thought that hiphop would have gotten so big and become culture. If i would have known I would be a rich man right now. But luckily me and you were able to experience it from the beginning. My kids actually think im cool because of that. Their friends are like "you write graffiti? WOOOOWW!. Its funny. Its cool to know someone else out there in places like this have that connection too. Hey, speaking of graffiti, I just saw Kel-1 today in a diner. Hes the one that created PNB nation clothes. Another friend of mine, Aliasher created Akademics clothes. Cool to know that someone I know took it to the next level. Hopefully one day they will say, you remember Raze? He making movies now, I used to hang with him back in the day.

Thanks C, we never finished the video though. I have more footage for it but the idea kept changing on a daily basis as we were shooting. So what you see there is nothing like the idea that was presented. I had ideas for the look that never got implemented. I lit Annabella a certain way to achieve that post look I wanted to do but since it never was used I think she looks ....not so good. I still have the footage and plan when I have time to re-edit it for myself just to have something. Wish I had more time to do music videos, they are fun. After i finish on this pilot me and my partner are creating Ill try to drum up some music videos again.
