I have a PANASONIC AG-DV2500 and a firewire cable from the mac running to the deck and RCA's running to the NTSC monitor and I can only get the image to display to the monitor while capturing with Avid. And--this is with the real-time effects toggle switched on/off.

So yeah----trying to get an image up on a monitor to view while editing---any suggestions???

If you are in a 24p project (23.976) you will need a Mojo to monitor your timeline becuase of the 2:3 pulldown insertion needed.
If in a 30i project, make sure the video display setting is correct, then go under the "special" menu and make sure the output is selected and then make sure you are in blue dot mode.
