Hey Y'all,
Usually I post my personal projects i.e. music videos and whatnot, but I've been hibernating this winter and just working to support my projects, so I thought I'd post some of my recent work projects.
This QT is two 30 sec. spots for the local scion dealer. They just gave me some betasp running footage, and the rest is all AE 6.5 pro stock effects, except for trapcode 3D stroke for the background of the first one. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions. p.s. I created all of the music in reason.

Dude, that's awesome. Sure I have lots of questions, just don't know where to start. I'm just getting through the first meyers book. Can't wait to use the knowledge in a real project.
Good stuff.

Caveman... really nice work. I'm new at AE 6.5 so bare with all my lame questions:
First Clip
1) Did you create "multi-square background" in AE or bring it in?
2) I'm guessing you used a gradient on it and then "tinted" video to match.. right?
3) I assume you are animating the camera, not the each individual background piece... right?
3) I've been learning Photoshop for titling. What do you use? I like that metallic sheen on the lettering
Second Clip (my favorite)
1) It appears to be a light source focused on middle of Scion logo. I especially like the way the moving letter comes "into the light" as it passes into the logo. How you do that?
2) The Scion into particle effects is sweet. Is that effect really in AE? Is that the shatter effect?
3) bands of light transition... from car to car... where effect is that?
4) I know its probably simple but the flash transition to the full screen video.... not have AE in front of my now... is that simple to do. I'm looking for an alternative to flashes like look like flashbulbs from a camera.
whew... sorry for all the questions. I'm looking to do something flashy like that for a TV show I'm creating.
PS... I use reason for all my scoring also.. it rocks!

Thanks for the kudos!
Panther,
In the order you asked...
First clip
(1) The multi square background I created in AE with the trapcode 3D stroke plugin.
Thats why it moves with the camera.
(2) Actually, the 3D stroke layer is set to an Alpha trackmatte of running footage that I added a slight gradient with the overlay mode on.
(3) A little bit of camera, a little bit of other things as well.
(4) All of the text was created straight in AE, it has some amazing text capabilities.
Second clip,
(1) Thats just the logo on top of the BG text layer, set to the difference transfer mode.
(2) That would be the "card dance" plugin. It takes forever to experiment with that plugin because it is a RAM FIEND. But it works great in a 3D environ.
(3) That would be the "card wipe" effect with "glow" plugin.
(4) Actually... I did that in Final Cut with a 55mm plugin to gradually increase the exposure, it's hard to make it look like an in camera effect, which always looks the best.
Hope this helps with your project.
