I am sure this has been posted before but my question is?
I have been trying to put mosaic effects on somebody face using motion track. The motion track should follow the face but I have no luck. Can you please teach me step by step?
Thanks,

tolak

Tolak,
It depends on how the face is moving within the frame.
AE doesn't have any 3D tracking so you're limited to horizontal, vertical movement and scaling. In other words if the face is turning at all it's not going to work.

With that being said, it will probably take some experimentation with it. You need to select a unique place to track (i.e. A part where there is a definitive edge of different colors) It's always been hit or miss with me and usually requires multiple tries. Keep at it and let me know if you still need help.

Cave Man,
OK, thanks caveman for your help. Here is the thing.
How do you partially blur somebody face? Because you don't want people to identify this person. I have seen it on TV many times? I can do it except I have to do it manually frame per frame. I usuall create a djustment layer and create a mask on put gaussian blure on top of mask and start following the face. That's tedious, right? I know motion track can do it but I for some reason I still don't get it? :-)
