Hiya,

I'm trying to compress an avi file for web streaming to 56kbps, 128 and 256 for web streaming for real and wmp, and I'm using wme and helix, but I'm having real trouble making the film look anywhere near decent in these compression fornats. I've tried tinkering with fps, CBR/VBR, screen size, one pass, two pass, all of that stuff, but the outputted files look terrible.

There must be a way of doing this without using media cleaner, since everyone seems to be able to do it, but I can't seem to work out how to do it. Does anyone have any advice? I can get it looking okay in really high bit rate, but don't know how to do it at a low bit rate.

I'm also having trouble getting wme to recognise the avi files that Avid puts out- I've tried all codecs.

Please help......
