SCENE SETTINGS TESTS

Chris and I tested the AF102 Scene Settings to obtain a base understanding of the camera.

We learnt a lot from this and the other basic tests (that I will post up next in a separate thread)

We were able to closely view the images in the studio monitor, the WFM and then n the edit suite. WFMs matched through out the chain.

Test Methodolgy was a reference control set up and a single variable.
ie. Controlled lighting set up for the purpose of the test and same exposure for all. Only the Scene setting was changed.

Scene Setting is labelled on each grab : 1 to 6.

Exposure was established by Incident light meter and Waveform monitor ( on cam wfm and the Panny 1700 studio monitor)

ISO 400

Color temp was measured by Color temp meter and also a White Balance check in camera. The color temp meter and the camera agreed within approx 50 degrees.

More INfo re Tests

The Scene Setting were all at "out of the box " default.

Scene Setting 6 is unuseably noisy in the blacks.

Shooter, Have you figured out a combination that works to clean up scene file 6?

We have not tried to do that yet but we have noted some of the noizless settings offered by others. Will try them at some point.

We are pretty much at the point of applying settings at the time of shooting now that we have a base understanding of the camera.

Apart from testing Matrix settings... our future tests will be per production requirement.
