Is the march contest still on?

Where is the official anouncement? there are like 6 days left....... i have almost finished my one.

Where do i send it when im done?

and how to i compress it from .AVI 500mb to 20mb mpeg or something? i use premiere pro 1.5

is the criteria still open idea just need to include a vinyl record?

I can't find an official anouncement, but you're right about the rules. It can be anything as long as it involves a vinyl record. I'm not sure about the prizes.

Hey i found a program that compress files if anyone was wondering its: Sorenson Squeeze 4.

As for compression, there are programs such as Squeeze or Cleaner. But since your using PPro I would suggest you use the Abobe media encoder. There have been discussions about it in the Compression section, here's a link to one:

oh lol, it sticks a huge advertisment in front of your compressed video! i dont think i have time to buy the full version so i will have to send in my entry with the advert!

Sorenson Squeeze 4 trial, i gave cleaner a go but it didnt work for me... im still trying premiere pro 1.5 using Abobe media encoder, but havnt been sucessful to get it under 40MB
Any tips on compresion setting to use on a 5min vid to get it under 40mb and in decent quailty?

The quicktime stuff is pretty good, and is prefered by most people, though I've noticed that the Windows Media stuff gets the files a bit smaller.

Just pick a preset and then play around with options, dropping values and such. Export. Repeat. Your bound to find something that works for you.
