AVID vs FCP for PAL 25P

I see some discussion of these 2 programs. Which would you suggest for editing a project shot on PAL 25P 16:9 (Squeeze)?

Either one supports 25p, so it is a matter of personal preference for other features that you may require for the project, etc.

Thanks. From what Ive read, the Avid requires additional software to capture 24fps...Is this true for 25P?

It doesn't need additional software to capture 24fps, the exisiting product will play back 24fps as well as capture 25i and 25p.

When working in true 24fps, you do need a Mojo to output to a monitor or a VTR. That will change im v.5 of XPress Pro to no longer be true.
