I have the opportunity to do something I have wanted to do for a long time and that is shoot an era peice. Aiming for late 40's. I have been researching tips and techniques that would help me replicate the old B&W film look best as I possibly can. I will be using my Canon 5D mkII. We will be using SAG actors and have a wide array of era correct props.

Does anyone on the forum have experience shooting this style that would be willing to share tips or guide me to some good resources?

Another point to consider is the lighting style, very different from today's soft lighting style because of filmstock speed limitations.

Faith Granger's "Deuce of Spades" was mostly set in early 50's and was period accurate down to the very last detail. It even had a scene that further flashed back to the early forties that was also absolutely period perfect. She has a thread in the user films section here or you can visit her website at http://deuceofspades.com where you can get a copy.
