Yesterday i shoot a play.
Due to the critical light conditions i choose to record interlaced or 50i.
How can i make it progressive, or close to that feeling in Avid.
Any easy trick.
It īs been so long since i shoot interlaced material so now i donīt know what to do.
Thanks for the help.

In the Timewarp effects pallet there are two FluidFilm effects. I've never used them but they might help you out. As far as "official" deinterlacing you'll have to take the footage out of Avid to accomplish it.

I've heard good things about DVFilmmaker. You could start there. http://www.dvfilm.com/maker/

Use the Progressive FluidMotion effect. It creates trur progressive frames by analysing pixels and creating new frames based on the motion from the fields. Looks great.

Yes but its kind of frustrating that if one wants to work in a progressive project this pluggin will not be available. Thatas a rela pity because one could mix interlaced shots in a progressive project with other original progresive material. Right now i am working with an export qt reference file of a couplple of shots interlaced that i opened in a intelaced project in order to convert to progressive with the plugguin and then i exported a s QT reference file int my big 25p project. Its a ver unconfortable workaround for its very difficult to edit the imported footage as its interlaces and there is manuy restrictions......
a complete headache...
hope someday avid will listen to my prays

I hear what you're saying. Allowing interlace in a progressive project has been a long time request. Right now the workaround you describe is the only way to do it.
