+2 has more noise in it, but I think it adds something to it. +1 was fine.
After the last couple days I'm starting to realize that it's better to find a good exposure through the viewfinder or LCD and then bring it down a touch. Also used the waveform a bit and it was handy. I don't really know how to use it, but I tried to keep everything kind of in the middle.

Thank you for the test aurantaurant (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/member.php?16144-aurantaurant). I just have one thought and theres has been a lot of discussion how much noise drs adds but something I find lacking is how much highlight it can help preserve.
I think to test the effect of the drs I would lover the exposure so the shadows land where your old shadows (without drs) were. Then you can see how much extra highlight range you can squeze in. In this test the highlights look equally blown out so the only thing I can see i how much lighter the shadows become(which surely has its value but as I mentioned above I think it would be more interestiung to see highlight recovery that has too). I would really appreciate if someone could make such a test with that in mind (lowering the exposure to compensate for the drs boost to see how much highlight i helps preserve)
I'm very interested in doing some tests with DRS +1 and its effects on noise level, posterization, and general range. I'm getting a very clean signal with my current settings but perhaps getting DRS +1 on there might even out some of the banding/posterization that comes with the 8Bit, help grain it up without making it too noisy, and all the meanwhile giving me a little more range to protect he highlights.
Tests.. tests ... tests.

Some of the nicest footage I have seen out of the camera. Very good.

Thanks Stockfuel.
Teodor,
I don't really know what DRS is doing, but I didn't use it the day before and it seems like this footage is more forgiving when I'm doing some color correcting. Your test sounds interesting and on the next one i'll give that shot.
Here are my camera settings in case anyone is interested.

Nice job!
I really like the images here. The noise is noticeable, but not a dealbreaker for me...I'm starting to wonder if it'll be worth it to shoot outdoor shots with DRS 1 or 2 and use Neat video to get rid of some of that extra noise.

Been testing this and yes the noise is removable.
