Excellent. I love the simplicity of what was shot here. It seems that it will be soooooo easy to get great footage out of this cam when you know what your doing and have good subject matter. The couple at the harbor is just fantastic looking, and at 2000-3200 ISO!!

Drooling over the AF100....

wow man, that looks very clean for such a high ISO...

***WOW***!!!

ISO 3200 was phenomenally clean!! Did you do any noise reduction on those night shots?

LOL at the guy tossing his hair in the last shot.

Nope no noise reduction, didn't touch the footage

What astounds me is that you did a slow motion / over crank at night at 3200 iso.

I'm speechless, actually. Thanks for sharing this clip. Would love to know what your camera settings were to achieve that clean look.

I didn't change any settings. Just took it out of the box and shot with it- Stock Scene 5: cineV gamma, cine matrix. Everything 0 except chroma which is -2

To be quite honest, I shot at 3200 iso expecting it not to hold up when I got home and saw it on a bigger screen

Are you seeing any noise on your screen? I'm on a crappy Dell LCD, and I'm sure it's crushing the blacks. You following the thread about the matrix noise and whatnot?

Edited to add - I just cranked up the gamma / brightness settings on the monitor to bring up the blacks to a dark grey, and yeah, there is some noise there. I don't know how much due to compression. But totally acceptable to me.

Thanks again for sharing.

I personally think the noise thing is blown out of proportion, no offense to those who see it as an issue. I am curious to try different settings to get an ultra clean look though when needed.

I do see noise, but to my eye nothing out of the ordinary for any camera.

Check out this thread if you haven't already:
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?234143-Noise-and-the-Matrix

Extensive conversation about different matrix settings and effects on noise in different color temps and day / night shooting styles. And I agree with you, I think most of the conversation about the noise has been .... noise. :)

Well done Clyde.

You dont see un acceptable noise because you are exposing your footage properly.

For those that change the gamma etc on therir monitors to find noise...you get what you deserve for being dumb!
